A very very happy Easter to you!
I wanted to do something special today, something inspiring to read, not just my regular blog ranting.
So let me start out with a question... What do you know about Easter? Or for some people, it's Happy Weed Day! But for many, it's a significant day.
I think being a Christian is over exaggerated nowadays. When I mention Easter, or greet someone about it, many that are not of the same faith cringe and make a face! I couldn't agree with you guys more. Not that I am dissing my faith or anything, but because this world is full of hypocritical lunatics that call themselves religious when all they really are is self righteous (big plank on their eyes) type of people.
You know what I realized about our church today? It's that Christians want to outshine one another. If you ask me what a real Christian is supposed to be like, this is what I'll tell you..
"There is no defining a REAL Christian. Because we are all different. Instead of trying to define or trying to look for Christians who act a certain way, people should look for certain values instead. I'm not sure if I'm being clear here.. So if you are still with me, let's go a little in depth. Christianity was built on imperfections, it wasn't that people who followed Christ that were perfect, its Christ that was. And often times the people that love to hit on "Christians" say-- well he or she acts like this or that, and shoves their faith down our throats. It's because the Faith itself allows anyone who wants to change in. We don't choose and we can't say "Oh, ONLY YOU CAN FOLLOW CHRIST BECAUSE YOU ARE KIND." or even, "Oh, YOU CANT FOLLOW CHRIST BECAUSE YOU HAD SUCH A NASTY PAST." Well let me share with you all something.. Not everyone that calls themselves "Christians" completely grasp the idea of what it means to be one. It's statistics, it's science. It's actual factors that are caused by situation, population, diversity, culture, upbringing. So no, you will never meet a perfect Christian and so get that idea out of your head. And to the Christians out there, don't act like you are perfect, you aren't. You are striving to become Christ-like, but you being born as a sinner already means you can't COMPLETELY become like him. So NO, you can't down other people or judge them or even, change them. As Christians, there is one defining silver lining value that you look for, that you have to represent-- self righteousness is not one them. Being a Christian doesn't mean you have to be the loudest one in church/you have to pray the longest prayer. Being Christ like is being humble, being kind, taking care of others around you, being mindful about what you do or what you say, patience, to love.. It's so many good things. Can a Christian travel a straight line to heaven? Let me tell you this. Any Christian that tells you, it's easy being one, is probably lying to you. Even if you don't believe in God, it's hard to believe in anything good in this world. It's tough out there.. We have to constantly batter ourselves for crying out loud, as if the battle in the real world isn't enough.. So next time you see a Christian, look for Christ-like values, don't look for Christ himself."
